The Inter-house Chess Tournament held on February 29th and March 1st showcased the intense competition among seven-player teams, with six players competing in each round.
In the first round, Green house defeated Blue house 4-2, while Red house tied with Yellow house. Both houses secured three wins each. The second round witnessed Green's dominance with a 6-0 win against Yellow whilst Red house managed to triumph over Blue with a score of 5-1. In the final round, Green emerged victorious against Red with a score of 4-2. The match between Blue and Yellow ended in a 3-3 tie.
Green house won the championship winning all three rounds with 6 points and an impressive 14 out of 18 wins. Red house secured the runner-up position with 3 points, followed by Yellow house with 2 points, and Blue house with 1 point.
Dinuda Seunka and Kanischker Sellasamy of Green performed exceedingly well, winning all three of their games and contributing significantly to their house's ultimate victory. Similarly, Danyaal Hashmi of Red secured three wins, showcasing exceptional skill and determination.
The tournament was a thrilling display of talent and sportsmanship, creating a memorable experience for all participants.
