Neoma Kahandawa in Year 10 was selected by the Ministry of Sport to represent Sri Lanka in the BIMSTEC Youth Water Sports Meet 2024 which was held in New Delhi from 5-10 of February 2024.

There were 268 athletes from various BIMSTEC member countries which include Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar & Thailand.

The girls’ swimming team of Sri Lanka had 17 swimmers from various schools including Neoma representing Colombo International School.

Neoma, in her first ever appearance on the international swimming stage, successfully progressed to the finals of 200m breaststroke and 200m IM and placed 4th and 5th respectively.
